Calpe has been chosen once again this year as a training destination for the teams that make up the Pro Tour. Astana, Radio Shack, Liquigas, Kathusha Team amongst others prepare for the season in Calpe at AR Hotels & Resorts.

The AR Diamante Beach Hotel, Spa & Convention Centre **** and the AR Roca Esmeralda Hotel & SPA *** are chosen every year by many professional, semi-professional and amateur cycling teams, due to the fact that both Hotels have all the necessary facilities to ensure they enjoy a pleasant stay and enable them to concentrate on their training.

The Costa Blanca and Alicante region are ideal for cycling due to the terrain and the semi-arid climate, offering average temperatures of around 20º, which permit cyclists to train during the winter, an essential period for the cyclists to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming season. Calpe, in particular, has a micro-climate which makes it a particularly apt destination.

Pro Tour Teams: such as the Russian Katusha Team, which is led by Sergei IVANOV, the Belgian Quickstep Team, which features Tom BOONEN, the Astana Team, from Kazakhstan, with CONTADOR or the Italian Liquigas Team, amongst others, have chosen the AR Diamante Beach Hotel, Spa & Convention **** and the AR Roca Esmeralda Hotel & SPA*** in Calpe as their bases whilst they prepare for the 2010 season.
